1. Provincial/ Aliwal North Community:
On the 6th of April, the Provincial Council approved all communities' budgets for the year 2009/2010
On the 25th of April, two of our SCJ Brothers, Ntsikelelo Bambatha and Joshua Mpiti were ordained deacons in the Aliwal Cathedral. Congratulations to them!
In the beginning of May, Fr. Surdel, SCJ the Provincial went for the General Chapter to Rome.
On the 28th of June, Fr. Chwaja, SCJ went for his overseas holiday.
2. Pietermaritzburg International Students House (Dehon House):
3. De Aar Community:
Brother Montfort, who completed his seminary formation at the end of 2008 and took additional courses in 2009, joined Fr. Strittmatter, SCJ in Middelburg after Easter 2009. Thus Br. Montfort began his pastoral work in the Diocese of De Aar.
On the 24th of May, Fr. Koscielny, SCJ went for his overseas holiday.
In June, Sr. Sylvia Van Vuuren, OP joined to the Diocese of De Aar. She came from Gauteng area where she conducted various retreats and catechetical courses, mainly with children and young people. At present Sr. Sylvia stays in Middelburg where she is preparing for undertaking similar activities in the Diocese.
At the end of June, a new bishop for the Diocese was announced, this is, Fr. Adam Musialek, SCJ. His ordination will take place in De Aar, on the 24th of September 2009, 10 am, in the Town Hall.
4. Hilton Community:
On the 7th of April, Fr. Maslowski, SCJ went to Middelburg and met a possible candidate to the pre-novitiate program. While being there, he also visited the SCJs working in that area. On the Holy Thursday, he joined Bp. Joseph Potocnak, SCJ in the Last Supper celebration in De Aar. On the Good Friday (the Lord's Passion and veneration of the Cross), he participated in the ceremonies together with Fr. Koscielny, SCJ and the Easter Vigil he spent with Fr. Chwaja in Aliwal North. On the Easter Sunday, he went to the Hilton Parish for celebrating the Lord's Resurrection.

Chris
Grzelak,
SCJ
graduated
from
the
University
of
KwaZulu-Natal
and
was
awarded
a
Doctorate
in
Theology
(PhD).
Fr.
Grzelak,
we
share
with
you
our
joy
and
wish
you
many
more
intellectual
and
spiritual
successes.

On
the
18th
of
April,
Fr.
Maslowski,
SCJ
attended
the
second
meeting
of
the
Vocation
Team
hosted
by
the
Missionaries
of
Africa.
On the 23rd of April, Fr. Maslowski, SCJ went for his overseas holiday.
At the beginning of May, Fr. Brown, SCJ after completing his lectures went back to the United States.
